Taxpayers who have claimed or are going to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) can expect a delay in their tax payout due to the federal PATH Act, which restricts the IRS from proceeding with refunds of taxpayers claiming these credits.

How to track your tax payouts for 2024?

The IRS has a tool where taxpayers can check the status of their tax refund, it’s mainly called “Where’s My Refund?”

This year the IRS has made some improvements in this tool to make it easy and clear for taxpayers to receive more detailed updates about the refund rather than the usual generic messages.

The agency has made sure that the tool will work seamlessly on mobile devices and can fulfill the requirements of taxpayers

To access the tool people can go to the official website of IRs or download the IRS2Go mobile application from the Play Store.

Taxpayers can track the refund status in 24 hrs if they have filled out the tax returns electronically, 4 weeks for paper file returns, and 3 to 4 days if they have e-filed the tax returns for the previous year’s returns.
