The Health Resources and Services Administration, US offers scholarships to eligible nursing students with a full-time service obligation for two years at an eligible health care facility. With this program, the department aims to help the students with their study expenses and overcome the critical shortage of skilled nurses at some healthcare facilities.

The Bureau of Health Workforce and Human Services administers the Nurse Corps Scholarship program within the HRSA Department. This year, the department commenced the scholarship program on 5 March 2024 and closed the application on 7 May 2024.

  • You must be a US Citizen/nationals or lawful permanent US resident
  • You are enrolled or accepted at a nursing school in the United States or anywhere in its territory to receive a nursing degree or certificate as a full-time student. The nursing programs included in the scholarship are:
  • Associated Degree in Nursing
  • B.Sc Nursing
  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Graduate-level advanced registered nurse
  • Graduate-level nurse practitioner
  • Bridge Nursing Graduate-level Programs, such as registered nurse to M.Sc in Nursing-nurse practitioners, registered nurse to B.Sc in Nursing, and Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing practitioners.
  • Your classes will begin on or after 30 September of the concerned year.

Exclusions:

  • Applicants who have an existing service commitment cannot apply.
  • Applicants with overdue federal debt will not be considered for the application.
  • Applicants must not have any federal judgment liens, meaning they have not paid the debt as per the obligations and the court ruling provides the right to the creditor to own your property or assets to recover the debt.

Nurse Corps Scholarship Program Selection Factor 

The selection of the applicants for the scholarship depends on various factors, such as work & life experiences, community service, etc. The applicants for the Nurse Corps Scholarship will be selected based on many factors such as:

  • Recommendation letter signed by professionals

The program covers nursing students’ tuition fees, associated educational costs, required fees, and monthly stipends for their service at eligible healthcare facilities. The living expenses with the scholarship program are up to $15,99 for the 2024 year whereas the monthly stipend is up to $15,99.
